Dave started his diving career as a youth and practiced his skills as a commercial diver retrieving golf balls from area golf courses in Ohio. After graduating from College, he gave up his ambitions as a commercial golf ball diver.
Dave has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron and a Master’s degree from the University of Houston and worked in the banking industry. He retired early from Texas Commerce Bank, now J.P Morgan Chase Bank, and planned to retire to an island with palm trees. Little did he know that his wife Martha would find palm trees on the island of Manhattan. Now a resident of New York and a part-time resident of Houston, Dave has expanded his diving skills to include diving instruction. While Dave is qualified to teach any course, because of his dry sense of humor, he finds he enjoys teaching the Company’s technical diving programs. Dave believes there are three rules divers need to remember; first, be careful and second no whining; third, when in doubt, refer to rules one and two.

He is an accomplished underwater photographer. Many of his photographs appear on our web page and in our manuals.
His diving travels have taken him all over the Caribbean and to the South Pacific. His diving experience also includes lakes, caves and other sites in Florida and various dive spots in the Gulf of Mexico. His favorite dive location is Palau in the South Pacific although the Solomon Islands hold a close second.
