Eric Keibler was bitten by the diving bug early in 1982 while a student at Texas Tech University, where he received a degree in Accounting. While working as a Certified Public Accountant for Deloitte and Touche, he began teaching diving as a part-time scuba instructor. As Eric likes to say, his hobby got out of control!
Eric and his wife Ann own Oceanic Ventures, Inc., a professional scuba diving education, equipment sales, repair and travel company located in Houston, Texas which is now celebrating its twenty-seventh year in operation.

Over the years, Eric has continued to grow as an instructor. He is a certified Trimix Instructor Trainer-Trainer and is qualified to train divers and instructors on a number of rebreathers including the Megalodon, Pathfinder, Sentinel, Inspiration, Evolution, Optima and Kiss rebreathers.
His love of diving has taken him from the waters off the Gulf of Mexico to the caves of Florida and Mexico to wrecks in the Pacific and off the coast of the United States. As a wreck instructor, his students have experienced the challenges of penetrating the deepest parts of ships where light has not been seen in many years.
When he is not at the store or diving, you will find him enjoying a fresh breeze aboard a sailboat. His love of sailing began in Lubbock but he soon discovered Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. His long-term plans include sailing and diving full-time in the Pacific.

Eric is a member of the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers International, Board of Advisors. Additionally, he is the co-founder of the Oceanic Ventures Foundation a non-profit corporation and serves as one of its officers and directors. He is a published author and a professional photographer; and, is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Texas PPA.
