Scuba Diving is your enrty into a world full of hidden treasures and sprecial creatures. This is a world that dominates the Earth’s surface and yet is accessible to only a few. One of the best things about diving is that it is a lifetime activity that you can do with your children and grandchildren alike. Oceanic Ventures offeres a full range of recreational and technical diving right here in West Universit Place so there is always something to do or a place to go very near your home.
There are a number of snorkeling, free diving and scuba courses avaialble for all ages. For the younger members of your house we have our award winning Starfish and Scuba Ranger programs as well as our Junior Open Water Diver programs. For older children and adults the entry level program is our Open Water Diver program which is designed to help you become a scuba diver. We also offer a number of specialty courses ranging from underwater navigatin to night diving and spearfishing. Whatever your interest, whether it is fish identification or photography, the professional staff at Oceanic Ventures is here to assist you meet your goals and become an experienced underwater explorer and certified scuba diver.

Junior Open Water Program & Open Water Program
This is the first step that really opens up your new world underwater. Our Open Water Diver program is a little different than most because our focus is helping you to reach your goals and become a diver. We do not merely want to teach you to dive. This may sound like semantics but it really is not. It is the philosophy that permiates all of our programs right from the start. We want you to become a safe and comfortable diver who loves the sport as much as we do. Remember, we were all beginning divers once. To get started, all you have to do is call Dive Mom or another of our Dive Professionals and schedule some time to pull everything together and set-up a schedule. We offer group diving programs, private programs and our exclusive Executive Scuba Program™. All you have to do is let us know when you want to start.
Your children can start diving as early as 10-years old if they have the maturity level to start scuba diving. These really young divers have some depth limitations that your professional Scuba Instructor will cover with you. At age 15, a diver can become a certified Open Water diver; until then they carry a Junior Open Water diver certification.
Generally, we teach OPen Water Courses on a private basis for members of the Houstonian. This give you the greatest flexibility in scheduling your classes. We can teach at the Houstonian or in your own backyard pool. Contact Ann for more information.
