What is this program all about?
This is both a presentation and a workshop that will present the basics of Photo File Management & Workflow utilizing tagging of images, catalogs, and general culling techniques. The workshop will also cover the Color Correction of RAW and .JPG files in Photoshop Elements. You will be introduced to some advanced techniques in composition manipulation including working with layers. We will also cover creating .PDF Slide shows, .WMV music slide shows, and some workflow techniques for using the online services, Mixbook, ShutterFly, Photoworks, etc. There is also a brief discussion on color theory and how to easily calibrate your printers to your monitors.
Who Should Attend?
If you currently take or want to take digital photos and do not edit or do very minor editing, but want to do more…this is for you! If you have no idea where to start or what to buy this may help you. This is a ground level intro. If you are a Lightroom or Creative Suite user you might have more experience already. Most of these techniques can be used in Creative Suite and Lightroom although the specifics of these programs will not be covered.
If I don’t photograph underwater is this course good for me?
The skills in this course are designed to help you with all pictures and workflow. He puts an emphasis on color correction of UW photos because that is a very challenging task. The knowledge and tools are the same and will work on all photos. Bring your laptop and follow along, adjusting your land shots as we work with the UW photos at the end.
What to bring?
Bring 3 photos in electronic form (untouched) that you’d like to “Fix”, laptops if you have Photoshop Elements or Photoshop. We will pick a few photos in the final workshop section to work on, no promises to get to all of them. Bring your questions too!
Do I need the software?
Not for the course, but if you have it great! If you have the Creative Suite with a full-blown Photoshop you are good to go as well!
