Technical diving is going beyond the normal recreational limits. This is the first in a series of programs designed to help you begin the transition to technical diving. You will learn about decompression theory in more detail as well as the gas management requirements for decompression diving.
Class Schedule:
- Class 1: Orientation, History and Equipment Considerations
- Class 2: Advanced Buoyancy Control
- Class 3: Nitrox Class review, Physiological Concerns, Stress, Oxygen & Limits, Dalton’s Law
- Class 4: Hands-on Equipment Configuration
- Class 5: Pool Session—Advanced Buoyancy Control
- Class 6: Pool Session – Advanced Diver Skills, Self-Sufficiency Considerations, and equipment handling
- Class 7: Decompression, Physiology, Dive Planning – Overview
- Class 8: Gas Management, considerations or light trimix mixtures and diving
- Class 9: Psychological Aspects of Technical Diving
- Class 10: Diving Accidents & Injuries
- Class 11: Pre-dive& Diving Procedures, Buoyancy and Breathing
- Class 12: Dive Planning – Practical Examples
- Open Water Session : 6-8 Dives
To benefit most from the course, you should complete all of the reading and textbook exercises prior to attending class. You will also need a total diving system. The cylinders can be rented for the program from Oceanic Ventures. Like any training program, your ratings and certification cards will be awarded when earned and by completing all of the requirements and paperwork.
Included:
- Instruction for all class, pool & open water sessions
- Educational materials including, lecture notes and cards when earned
- Use of Cylinders for pool work
- Use of instructional aids for class
Not Included: Total Diving System, transportation to the open water sessions (car pool can be arranged), park entrance fees, cylinders and air fills for open water sessions.
Required Equipment beyond Basic System: Please review the equipment schedule; however, please talk to your instructor before purchasing any equipment. Some things are not suitable for technical diving. Remember, your instructor will work with you to determine what is best for your needs and goals.
Class Size: Minimum: 2 person minimum for class, 6 maximum (although there will be a 4 to 1 ratio of leader to student)

The Club rates shown are for Club Member/Non-Club Members. The annual fee for joining Club Aquarius is $65.00 for a single or $95.00 for a family.
